The playground at Cleveland Park was once again filled with the shouts and laughter of children Saturday morning.
Jim Campbell, former director of for the Spartanburg County Parks Department, first proposed the idea of a community rebuild to the county administrator.
“I think we've done something here that will stand for generations as a crowning achievement for Spartanburg County,” Campbell said.
Volunteers built the new playground in October over the span of six days. Hall said more than 2,300 people spent more than 10,000 hours working on the project.
