Spartanburg County Council met on Monday, April 16, 2001, in Conference Room Two of the County Administrative Office Building. In compliance with the Freedom of Information Act, notice of this meeting was provided in advance to the local news media and other interested parties. The following were in attendance: Honorable Karen Floyd, Chairman; Honorables Rock Adams; Jeff Horton; David Britt; Frank Nutt; and Johnnye Code-Stewart, Council members; along with James K. Hartmann, County Administrator; Bill Dennis, Deputy County Administrator; Glenn Breed, Assistant County Administrator; Chris Story, Assistant County Administrator; and Roy McBee Smith, County Attorney.

1. Chairman Floyd called the meeting to order.
2. Motion by Mr. Adams to waive rules, nominate and appoint Jack McNeal Owens to the Enoree Fire District Board. Motion seconded by Mr. Horton and carried. Motion by Mr. Horton to waive rules, nominate and appoint Lenette G. Acree, Coy W. Bradley, Garrick Welton Irwin, Spencer Jay Keadle, and Mattie Mae Morris to the Inman Mills Fire District. Motion seconded by Ms. Stewart and carried. Motion by Mr. Horton to waive rules, nominate and appoint George Albert Twiddy and Elizabeth M. Cox to the Lakewood Hills Special Tax District. Motion seconded by Mr. Adams and carried. Motion by Ms. Stewart to waive rules, nominate and appoint Gaynelle West and Vernon Beatty to Piedmont Community Actions, Inc. Board. Motion seconded by Mr. Britt and carried. Motion by Mr. Horton to waive rules, nominate and appoint Dennis C. Lindey to the Tyger River Fire District Board. Motion seconded by Mr. Nutt and carried.
