The Spartanburg Public Safety Department hosts a monthly support group for victims/survivors of violent crime.

On the second Thursday of each month at noon, the group meets at the Spartanburg Public Safety Service Center, 150 South Church Street, Spartanburg, SC. The support group, Survivors After Violent Crime Encounters - SAVE, is open to anyone who has been victimized by a violent crime in Spartanburg County.

Law Enforcement Victim Advocates at the Spartanburg Public Safety Department work with a licensed and registered therapist who facilitates the monthly meetings. Many victims who have participated in the SAVE Support Group have found that interaction with similar individuals has been an important part of their healing process. By meeting with others, victims work to overcome their feelings of: low self-esteem, isolation, powerlessness, fear and anger. Victims/Survivors are not required to speak about their own victimization unless they choose to share information.

The monthly meetings begin at noon and last for approximately one hour. There is no fee to attend. A light lunch is normally provided.
